These prophesies were made by different prophets over a 600 year span and half of these were made 1000 years before Christ was born. There are over 30 prophecies about the crucifixion of Christ.Â
Prophecy–history written in advance
twofold descriptive and predictive. Prophets were “forth-tellers†and “for-tellers†for they had insight and foresight imparted to them by the Holy Spirit.
2/3 of the Scriptures are prophetic either in type, symbol, or direct statement.
½ of them remain to be fulfilled
The ½ that has been fulfilled has been “literally†fulfilled
No prophecy is to be interpreted by itself, but in harmony with the whole body of prediction on any given subject.
The requirements of a genuine prediction
–must have been made known PRIOR to its fulfillment
–must be beyond all human foresight
–must give details
–sufficient time must elapse between publication and fulfillment. The will exclude the prophet himself fulfilling it
–clear and detailed information about the fulfillment
