AFTER DEATH part four

Death is the barrier that separates us from the physical world and the spirit world. The physical matter remains with the physical world and that of the spirit returns to the spirit world. Since the people of the physical world are blinded to the spiritual world many believe that the spirit world does not exist. 1 Cor. 2:14; John 12:40.

Many will tell you that physical death is the end of man, that there is nothing after the grave. I have heard people preach on the subject of death and say that there is no separation of body, soul, and spirit. Once dead, you will remain there until the great judgment. I have heard others say on the subject that there is nothing until the resurrection. As Paul tells Timothy in 2 Tim 2:8, “Consider what I say, and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.”What does the word of God say? It takes a lot of studying, prayer and guidance from the Holy Spirit to rightly divide the Word. 2 Tim. 2:15. I do not want to be a stumbling block any. Therefore, be informed by the pertinent Scriptures and trust in the Holy Spirit to guide you to the truth and let it set you free.

Read and decide for yourself. Isa. 14:9-17 where the dead talk; again in Ezek. 32:21; Luke 16:19-31 many living characteristics are shown here; Eph. 4:8; Rev. 6:9-10 and again the dead conversing; decide for yourself what the Bible tells us how life continues after death. This illustrates as Scofield says, “the state of the spirit after death”.

According to Strong’s Concordance the word Tanatos occurs 119 times. “Thanatos, death has the basic meaning of separation of (1) the soul ( the spiritual part of man) from the body ( the material part). . .” Also the Greek word apothnesko for “died” which occurs 112 times “and is used (1) of the separation of the soul from the body. . .” this is the word used in Luke 16. As one can see that the Greek terms used in the New Testament for death, died, etc. show a separation of the physical body and the spiritual body.

BEWAREÂ A WARNING to those prophets (prophets today are those who teach the Word).

I personally believe that one second after their death they will know the truth. Remember those who teach or preach the word of God are always held to a higher standard of accountability at their day of judgment. One needs to make sure that what you teach or preach is right. I would strongly urge any who teach today to study in earnest the second chapter in 2 Timothy.

I hope that this has given an insight to the human trinity and what happens to the soul and spirit after death. The state of being after death will be also changed in the twinkling of an eye when the spirit comes back for its body. For more on this subject read the resurrection series.

Have a nice day, God bless, and hope that you have enjoyed searching for the truth that God reveals to us in His Word.

AFTER DEATHÂ part two

Â

WHAT HAPPENS TO OUR BODY?

WHAT HAPPENS TO OUR SOUL?

WHAT HAPPENS TO OUR SPIRIT?

WHY MUST WE DIE?

Therefore, we can see that we are made up of three things, body, soul, and spirit.

 Body–

man is different than plants or animals. Plants, animals and man have a state of being, meaning that they have life, a physical body, what one would see if they looked into a mirror. Soul–

Man and animals have a consciousness, being aware of our surrounding and feelings. Spirit

–a vacant or empty room inside ones heart until he is reborn and the Holy Spirit comes there to dwell.

There are two classes of people, those that are Christians (saved), and those that are not, (sinners). Both these classes are represented in Luke 16:19-31, Lazarus and the Rich Man.  This is a story not a parable, and it answers many questions about what occurs after what we refer to as death.  Some answers from this story are;

1. Both the sinner and the saved dies.

2. Both have a specific place to go after their physical death.

3. The physical death does not mark the end, therefore life or state of being is eternal for both.

4. Here they could talk, feel, see, touch, thirst and had a recognizable form or body.

5. This physical body must die, for it will not withstand eternity. At the first resurrection, the one for a Christian, this physical body will have to be changed to a glorified body liken to that of Christ’s resurrected body. A spiritual body with Flesh and bone, no blood, Luke 24:39. This body will then live forever with Christ.

As for the sinner, just like the rich man, his physical body will also pass away at death. Later he will be resurrected for the judgment. After the judgment the sinner will be cast into hell–here the physical body cannot endure the flames and the physical body must die again (Therefore, the second death).

AFTER DEATH part one

Once you pass through that “toll gate” of death, what then??? What does the Bible tell us about the other side? This topic does concern Bible prophecy for it is telling the future of all who die.

The Human Trinity

First the world is divided into two categories of those things that are alive and those that are not alive. Plants are alive, but do not realize that they have life. Animals are alive and realize that they are alive, but do not have in innate conscious of God. Humans have all three.

Gen. 1:26, “God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. . .”. We are comprised of three things, just as there is a divine trinity, a satanic trinity there is also a human trinity. The human trinity is made up of (1) the physical body itself, (2) a soul and (3) a spirit. 1 Thess. 5:23. “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

In Gen 2:7 First God made the body of man, then breathed the breath of life into him and then man became a living soul. The body is materials of this earth. The soul and spirit are from God. Spirit is life and the innermost part of man. The soul is the conscious and works between the spirit and body.

The physical bodyis the part of man is made up of flesh, bone and blood. It is that part which we see when we look into a mirror. The same part we see when we look at one another. It is that part we see when we look into the casket. It is the part that is put into the grave.

The spirit part of man is one that God breathed into Adam. It is life, Lk. 8:55, “And her spirit came again. . .” Do not confuse the spirit of man with the Spirit of God (Holy Spirit). Notice the capital letter. Remember that the Holy Spirit gives life, but just because you have life that does not mean that you have the Holy Spirit in your life.

In the Garden of Eden, the spirit of man is the part that allowed communication between God and Adam. This direct communication was lost because of sin. This part remains as an empty “room” for all those unsaved today. The Bible tells us that the natural man cannot communicate with God. This is because when God looks at the natural man he sees the sinful nature of man. The natural man does not seek God, he knows of God, but does not seek Him. 1 Cor. 2:9-16 tells us that it is the Spirit of God that teaches us the things of God. We do not receive this Spirit until we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior. Verse 14, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness unto him. . .”.

This empty place is the “room” where the Holy Spirit indwells or lives once you become a Christian. You are now able, once again, to communication directly with God just as Adam did before his sin. The veil to the Holy of Holies has been “rent in twain from the top to the bottom”, Mt. 27:51.

The last part of the human trinity we will speak of is the Soul. It also was given to man from God. This is where one realizes that they are alive. Has awareness of surroundings and has the innate awareness of God Himself. Romans 1:19-20 tells us that God has shown man of Himself and that man has knowledge of God and is without excuse. “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse;”.

These three parts make up the human trinity. Physical body, soul and spirit. How they interact depends on who is in control, God or man. God gave all these to man. It is up to man, (for now) to choose his Lord and master while on this side of death. Once we pass through the “toll gate” then God gives all judgment to the Son.

Resurrection Summary part 7 of 7

The purpose of this series has been to bring out the truth about restorations and resurrections. Trying to point out the differences. From restoring physical life to restoring spiritual life. Even the restoring of a nation from a remnant.

A Restorations of natural man means to breathe life back into the SAME physical body that was dead. It happened to some in biblical times as Christ, Paul, Elijah and others prophets called people back from death to return to their physical world. These would die again. Another restoration we spoke of was when Israel would be restored to their homeland.

The resurrection from death unto life when a person is re-born. This is a spiritual re-birth, not a physical one.

Differentiating between the first and second resurrection and how many we have. “The Resurrections” have tried to develop a better understanding about what happens after death. Illustrating that death is just the toll gate to eternity.

Quickly, at death the physical body and spirit separate. The physical body goes to what we refer to as the grave. And the spirit or what some refer to as the “soulish” body goes on to one of two places. The unsaved goes to where the rich man is in Luke 16. The saved went to a place called paradise, that was where Lazarus and Abraham were. But Christ emptied that paradise at His resurrection. Now the saved go to a new paradise to be with Christ. Paul said in 2 Cor. 5:8 that to be “absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord”. Here now resides the “soulish” or “spiritual” body upon which age and death has no effect.

The Sadducees claimed not to believe in a resurrection, but yet tested Jesus with the question concerning the resurrection (Mt. 22: 23-33, Acts. 23:8). But Jesus, Daniel, Isaiah, Paul, Peter, David etc. all spoke of the resurrection of the dead. You will have to chose whom to believe.

We also found out that after a resurrection one would immediately proceed to a judgment. The saved to a Bema Seat and the unsaved to the Great White Throne. After the judgment comes eternity, the saved would be with Christ and for the unsaved, to the lake of fire and the second death.

Â

In conclusion in 2 Peter chapter 3 we are told about the last day scoffers where they forget the past, make fun of the future and live just for today. Here and in Matt 18:14, you will find that the Lord does not want any to perish and again in Ezek. 18:23. God gives chance after chance, but sure is the day of judgment. When it arrives it will be sure and immediate.

I will leave you with this final thought. The same that Paul asked of Agrippa in Acts 26:8. “Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?”Restorations, First Resurrection, Second Resurrection, Great White Throne Judgment, lake of fire, second death, rich man and Lazarus, Abraham’s bosom, Biblical Prophecy,

HOW WE LIVE FOREVER

We are more than just a physical body. The physical body, that which we have now, is the image one sees when looking in a mirror. The physical body is the one that feels the pain of getting older, the one that decays with age. The physical body is the one that has blood in it and the one that also has sin in it. But man has more than just a physical body, he is comprised of three things; just as God is a trinity, so is man. Gen 9:6 “for in the image of God made He man.”

Paul lists “spirit and soul and body” in 1 Thess 5:23. Paul recognized that we have three parts (bodies), a Natural physical body, a Spiritual body and a Soul. A reference is also found in Heb. 4:12 concerning three parts of man, the natural (joints and marrow), spiritual and soul.

1. The body. That part that we see in the mirror. The flesh and blood or the natural.
2. The soul. Scriptures showing that the soul is separate from the body. Gen. 2:7 “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Ezek. 18:3-4. Soul departs the body at death. Gen. 35:18; Matt. 10:28 “but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
3. The spirit. The spirit is not flesh and blood. 1 Cor. 6:20. “Therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s”.

Science divides the earth into two categories, living and non-living. In the living category, there are plants and animals. Plants have life, but animals are more. Animals have a conscious and realize they are alive. This conscious also allows them to have feelings, think and to make decisions. This conscious is referred to as a soul. Now humans have a third part, a spirit.

We realize that at death when our physical bodies are put into the ground that decay starts and continues until only dust remains. This is our outside shell, our house. Just like we live in a house, but that house in not us. The house may somehow be destroyed by flood, fire or some other natural disaster, but our life is not over, we continue. We live in the physical body and eventually it will go away, but the part inside, the WE, goes on.

The plain truth is that once someone is born, they live forever, not in the physical body for it could not withstand the demands of eternity. But our soul and spirit lives on. 1 Cor. 15; 50-53 tells us that “this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” Corruption means decay, so the physical body, that which is put into the grave will corrupt or decay. But at the instance of death, the physical body immediately separates from the soul and the spiritual body, the physical body goes into the ground. The soul and the spiritual body will at this time go in one of two directions.

This is explained to us by Christ in Luke 16: 19-31.  This is a story not a parable, it is about a rich man and a beggar named Lazarus.  Lets examine the facts revealed in this passage of Scripture;

(1) they both died, that is, the physical body died. Even though they both died they still exist.
(2) the two found themselves in two very different locations. The rich man was in a place of torment and it seems that he was very uncomfortable.
(3) Lazarus found himself in a comfortable location.
(4) the rich man recognized Abraham showing us that the spiritual body maintains characteristics similar to the physical body.
(5) they communicated.
(6) the rich man felt pain, thirst, and emotions, he had mental awareness, reasoning ability and memory. This story tells of the time between physical death (grave) and the resurrection. The resurrection is told by Christ in John 5:25-29. Here Christ tells about those who have died will “come forth” either in the “resurrection of life” or the “resurrection of the damnation.” All spirits will come back for a type of body for their spirit and soul to incarnate once again.

In conclusion: once born we live forever. Of course the physical body will have to die for it cannot withstand the rigors of eternity. The Lord will resurrect all in a new and different body. In John 5:28-29 tells of those “resurrection of life” and “resurrection of damnation”. Then will be the judgment for what we have done here on earth.

We will be either eternally with God, or eternally without God. Just as in the story about the rich man and Lazarus, their choices while on earth determined where they were to spend eternity, so will the choices we make in this physical body determine where we will spend eternity. It is never too late to accept Christ as our Savior, that is as long as we are alive here on earth. But if you know exactly at what time you are going to die, them you know exactly how much time you have to make that choice. But most do not know the exact time that they are going to die. Most are only guaranteed now. 2 Cor. 6:2 “behold, now is the day of salvation”. For now is all that one can control.

No one but God knows the future, and that is one instant after now. So repent and ask Christ to be your Savior, follow Him as your Lord. Choose this and you will be with Jesus eternally. Reject this and you will be in the same place as the rich man.

You just made a choice I pray it was the right one.

The place of their confinement is not Hell, but Tartarus. What was their sin? It was “fornication,” and fornication of an abnormal character, the unlawful sexual intercourse of angelic being with “strange flesh,” that is with beings of a different nature. When was this sin committed? The text says in the “Days of Noah,” and that it was the cause of the Flood. For the details we must go back to the time before the Flood. In Gen. 6:1-4 we read–“And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, that the ‘Sons of God’ saw the ‘Daughters of Men’ that they were fair (beautiful); and they took them wives of all which they chose. . . There were ‘Giants’ in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the ‘Sons of God’ came in unto the ‘Daughters of Men’ and they bare children to them, the same became ‘Mighty Men’ which were of old, men of renown.” Who were the “Sons of God”? Some claim that they were the Sons of “Seth,” and that the “Daughters of Men” were the daughter of “Cain,” and that what is meant is that the Sons of the supposedly godly line of Seth, intermarried with the godless daughters of Cain, the result being a godless race. That the “Sons of God” were the descendants of Seth is based on the assumption that the descendants of Seth lived apart from the descendants of Cain up to a time shortly before the Flood, and that they were a pure and holy race, while the descendants of Cain were ungodly, and their women irreligious and carnal minded, and possessed of physical attractions that were foreign to the women of the tribe of Seth. Such an assumption has no foundation in Scripture. Be sure it says in Gen 4:26, that after the birth of Enos, a son of Seth, that men began to call upon the Lord, but it does not follow that those men were limited to the descendants of Seth, nor that all the descendants of Seth from that time were righteous. As in the early days of the race it was necessary that brothers and sisters and near relatives should marry, it was very unlikely that the descendants of Seth and Cain did not intermarry until some time before the Flood, and stranger still that when they did marry their offspring would be a race of “giants” or “Mighty Men”. It is worthy of note that nothing is said of giantesses, or “Mighty Women,” which would have been the case if it were simply a union of the sons of Seth, and the daughters of Cain. As both the descendants of Seth (except 8 persons) and of Cain were destroyed in the Flood, it is evident that they were not separate tribes at that time and were equally sinners in the sight of God.

If the sons of Seth and the daughters of Cain were meant why did not Moses, who wrote the Pentateuch, say so? It is not sufficient to say that the men of Moses’ time knew what he meant. The Scriptures are supposed to mean what they say. When MEN, we are told, began to multiply on the face of the earth, and the “daughters of MEN.” The use of the word MEN signifies the whole Adamic race, and not simply the descendants of Cain, thus distinguishing the “Sons of God: from the descendants of Adam. There is no suggestion of contrast if the “Sons of God’ were also men.

Four names are used in Gen. 6:1-4. “Bne-Ha_Elohim,” rendered “Sons of God”; Bnoth-Ha-Adam,” “daughters of men”; “Hans-Nephilim”, “giants”; “Hog-Gibborim,” “Mighty Men.” The title “Bne-Ha-Elohim,” “Sons of God,” has not the same meaning in the Old Testament that it has in the New. In the New Testament it applies to those who have become the “Sons of God” by the New Birth. John 1:12; Rom. 8:14-16; Gal. 4:6; 1 John 3:1-2. In the Old Testament it applies exclusively to the angels, and is so used five times in Job. Where Satan, an angelic being, is classed with the “Sons of God.” Job 1:6, 2:1, 38:7. A “Son of God” denotes a being brought into existence by a creative act of God. Such were the angels, and such was Adam, and he is so called in Luke 3:38. Adam’s natural descendants are not the special creation of God. Adam was created in the “likeness of God’ (Gen. 5:1), but his descendants were born in his likeness, for we read in Gen. 5:3 that Adam “begat a son in HIS OWN LIKENESS, AFTER HIS IMAGE.” Therefore all men born of Adam and his descendants by natural generation are the “Sons of Men,” and it is only by being “born again” (John 3:3-7), which is a “NEW CREATION” that they can become the “Sons of God” in the New Testament sense.

That the “Sons of God” of Gen. 6: 1-4 were ANGELS was maintained by the ancient Jewish Synagogue, by Hellenistic Jews at, and before, the time of Christ, and by the Christian Church up until the Fourth Century, when the interpretation was changed to “sons of Seth” for two reasons. First, because the worship of angels had been set up, and if the “Sons of God” of Gen 6:1-4 were angels and fell, then angels might fall again, and that possibility would affect the worship of angels. The second reason was, that Celibacy had become an institution of the Church, and if it was taught that the angels in heaven did not marry, and yet that some of them seduced by the beauty of womanhood came down from heaven to gratify their amorous propensities, a weakness of a similar kind in one of the “earthly angels” (Celebates) might be the more readily excused. In the Eighteenth Century the “Angelic Interpretation” was revived, and is now largely held by Biblical scholars.

The objection to the “Angelic Interpretation” is based on the words of Jesus as to the marriage relation of the redeemed in Heaven, when He said–“They neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in Heaven.” Matt. 22:30, Mark 12:25, Luke 20 35-36. The legitimate conclusion from this statement is, that the Angels do not marry, but it does not therefore follow that they are “sexless.” It says they do not marry in Heaven, not that they do not have the power of procreation, but that it is not the nature of “Holy Angels” to seek such a relationship. But it does not follow that if they have the power they will not exercise it in a fallen state. What these passages teach is that angels do not multiply by procreation. Angels as far as we know were created “en masse,” and as they are immortal, and never die, there is no necessity for marriage among them. Marriage is a human institution to prevent the extinction of the race by death. If the bodies of the dead are to be resurrected, as the Scripture clearly teach, the inference is that those bodies will be male and female. To teach otherwise is to declare that such a relationship as husband and wife and sister and brother will be unknown in heaven. As the bodies of the Righteous dead after they have resurrected and glorified are immortal, and shall never die again, there will be no necessity for the Righteous in Heaven to marry, and therefore the marriage relation will be discontinued, but it does not follow husbands and wives will not know each other “as such” in the other world.

Another fact worthy of note is, that the angels are always spoken of as of the masculine gener. We meet with “Bne-Ha-Elohim,” “sons of Elohim” (God), but never with “Bnoth-Ha-Elohim,” “Daughters of Elohim,” (God). The inference is that all the angels are of the masculine gender, that is are males. If this be true, the reason why they do not marry in Heaven is because there are no female angels to marry. But it does not follow that they do not have male generative organs and cannot cohabit with females of the human race. It is highly improbable that angels by sinking lower in the scale of being could acquire sexual power of which they had previously been destitute, and yet they have such power if we are to believe the statement of Gen. 6:1-4. The whole thing hinges on the correspondence between the bodies of angels and the bodies of human beings.

Angels and human beings are members of the great family of God, and this “kinship” between them implies a relationship that under certain conditions might result in a fruitful marriage union. Angels are “Spiritual Beings” clothed in celestial bodies. These bodies are not ethereal in the sense that they are mere “ether,” for they have a materialistic form and can fly (Dan. 9:21, Rev. 14:6-7) and assume the form of a man, and could eat of Abraham’s calf (Gen. 18:1-8), and of Lot’s unleavened bread (Gen. 19:1-3). Man is also a “Spirit Being” clothed in a material body of flesh, and hereafter, as a redeemed man, is to have a “Spirit body” like unto the angels. As someone has said man is now “half-beast” and “half-angel”, but someday will be all angel. “As we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the Heavenly.” 1 Cor. 15:49. Are men and angels then so dissimilar that under certain conditions there could not be a union between them?

Man was made in the “Image of God,” not only spiritually, but in a sense physically. While God is a “Spirit,” because a “Spiritual Being,” it is not to be supposed that He has no form. We cannot conceive of a being that has eyes, and ears and can speak, but what has a form. And the inference from the Scriptures is that all the “Higher Intelligences” of the Heavenly World, as the Seraphim, Cherubim, Angels, Archangels, Satan, etc., are patterned after the image of God, and that that pattern is that of the human body, for man structurally is the “Masterpiece” of the Almighty. Psa. 8:3-9. The fact that when angels appeared to men they always appeared in the form of a man, and not in the form of an animal, or bird, is inferential evidence that angels are men. The statement in Gen 3:1, “Now the ‘Serpent’ was more subtle than any BEAST of the field,” and the title of “DRAGOON” given to Satan in Rev. 12:7-9, implies that Satan when it suits his purpose takes the form of a beast, but he is generally spoken of as appearing as an “ANGEL OF LIGHT.” 2 Cor. 11:14.

If man was made in the “IMAGE OF GOD,” and after His “LIKENESS” (Gen. 1:26-27), it stands to reason that when God would manifest Himself to men, it would be in the form of a man. The assumptions then of the human form by Jesus at His Incarnation was the necessary law of His being. He could not have appeared in any other form and been GODLIKE. When the Apostle speaks of Jesus as being in the “form of God,” and taking upon Himself the “form of a servant” and being made in the “LIKENESS OF MEN” (Phil. 2:5-8), he simply means that Jesus took upon Himself human nature and subjected Himself to its limitations. For the form of a servant is the same as the form of his master, though his knowledge may be less.

When Jesus ascended He ascended as a MAN and He is now in Heaven the “MAN CHRIST JESUS.” 1 Tim. 2:5. And as a MAN John had a vision of Him in the midst of the “Seven Lampstands.” Rev. 1:10-20. If the human body is not made after the pattern of the Heavenly, then Jesus in the form of a MAN in Heaven is out of harmony with His environment, and we have the anomalous condition of the second person in the Trinity now being different in form from the Father and the Holy Spirit. If Jesus came to reveal the Father, then what did He mean when He said–“He that hath seen ME, hath SEEN THE FATHER.” (John 14:8-11), if He was not a revelation of God in His person as well as in His works? As no Mortal being in the flesh can look on the person of God and live (Ex. 33:18-23), it was necessary that Jesus should veil His Deity in human flesh, but the veil of the flesh became transparent on the Mount of Transfiguration, and three of His Disciples beheld His Glorious Heavenly Form, that of a Man. Matt. 17:1-2. John 1:14. 2 Peter 1:16-18.

We know from the first three chapters of Genesis that God visited the “Garden of Eden” and talked with Adam. We also know that Satan, a “Fallen Angel,” also was a visitor to the Garden, for it was there that he tempted the first pair. May it not have been true that Adam and Eve had other angelic visitors, because of the “kinship” between them? It would be interesting to know what would have been the relation between the Adamic and Angelic races if Adam had not fallen. Is not the difference between them, caused by the Fall, more of a spiritual than a physical one, and if so, where does the impossibility of physical intercourse come in? What effect the Fall had upon the physical state of Adam and Eve is an interesting question. We are told that as a result of the Fall their eyes were opened, and they knew that they were naked. Gen. 3:7. Why did they not know that before? Is it true, as some have supposed, that before the Fall a sort of “Halo” acted as a veil to hide their nakedness, and by the Fall they lost this? While the first pair were told to be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth (Gen. 1:28), showing that it had been inhabited before, the inference is that that union would have been of the most pure and chaste character, but the Fall so changed the human heart as to cause man to fall below the brute creation in yielding to lust, and if this be true of fallen man, why not true of “Fallen Angels”? As the Fall of man did not sever completely the communication of angelic beings with the race, we see no reason why fallen angelic beings could not be attracted by the beauty and comeliness of the females of a race, inferior, but not so far removed from them, and desire to have intimate companionship with them.

In Rev. 12:7-12, we read that when Satan and his angels are cast out of the Heavenlies onto the earth there will be great “woe.” As this will be in the midst of the “Tribulation Period,” as we read–“As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the Days of the Son of Man” (Luke 17:26-27), it may be that this new invasion of the earth by “Fallen Angels” will be attended with like conduct on their part as that of the Fallen Angels of Noah’s day.

There is a statement in Gen. 3:15, that seems to throw considerable light on the subject we are discussing. It reads–“I will put enmity between thee (Satan) and the woman (Eve), and between THY SEED (AntiChrist) and HER SEED (Christ): IT (Christ) shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise His heel.” From this it seems clear that Satan has the power of procreation, and that he will beget a son–“THE ANTICHRIST,” called in 2 Thess. 2:3, the “SON OF PERDITION”. While “Perdition” is a PLACE (Rev. 17:8,11) and also a “condition” into which men may fall (1 Tim. 6:9; Heb. 10:39), the author of it is SATAN, and “Antichrist” in the above passage is called the “SON OF PERDITION” because he is the son of the author of Perdition, or SATAN.

As Christ was born of a “Virgin” by the Holy Spirit without the instrumentality of a human father, so it would appear that Antichrist, in imitation of the birth of Christ, is to be born of a woman (Not necessarily a virgin) with Satan as his father. This is no new view, but has been held by many of God’s spiritually minded children since the days of the Apostle John. If Satan then has the power of procreation, why not his and other Fallen Angels?

As further evidence as to the possibility of angelic beings having intercourse with human beings it might be well to cite the treatment of the angels that came to Sodom, which incident is connected with the account of the “Fallen Angels” in 2 Peter 2: 4-6, and Jude 6-7. Form the account in Gen. 19:1-11, it is clear that the men of Sodom sought to seize the two angels that came to Lot that they might commit the unnatural vice of Sodomy with them, as described in Rom. 1:26-27, thus revealing that the angels had the generative organs of men.

When Moses sent the twelve spies into Canaan (Num. 13:1-33), and there they reported on their return–“And there we saw the ‘giants’ (Nephilim); and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” Where did these giants, called “Nephilim,” the same as the “giants” of Gen. 6:1-4, come from? They did not come from the other side of theFlood, unless there was such blood in Noah and his sons and their wives, which we must believe that God prevented, for the purpose of the Flood was to destroy such contamination of the race. Does it not look as if even after the Flood there were some sporadic cases of angelic intercourse with the daughters of men, and was not this the reason why God called for the extermination of the Canaanites that He might blot out the descendants of the Nephilim? This interpretation is confirmed by the words of Gen. 6:4–“There were giants (Nephilim) in the earth in those days (the days before the Flood), and also after that.” That is, after the Flood. The statement that the sin of the “Fallen Angels” was that they left their “First Estate,” the “Kingdom of the Air,” to descend to the earth for the purpose of going after “Strange flesh,” ought to forever settle the character of that sin to every one who believes the word of God.

Lastly, the monstrous character of the “offspring” of the “Sons of God” and the “daughters of men” is proof that the “Sons of God” were not men. Their offspring were “Giants–Mighty Men,” who were so wicked that it is said of them, that “every imagination of the thoughts of their heart was only evil continually.” Gen. 6:5. Godly men have married ungodly women, but their offspring have never been such “monstrosities” as the offspring of the “Sons of God” and the “Daughters of Men” of Noah’s day. The word translated “giant means the “fallen ones,” which is further proof that the “giants” of those days were sons of “Fallen Angels.” The “sons of Seth” and the “daughters of Cain” had doubtless often intermarried before that time, but no such children were born to them or they would have appeared before. Why do not “Mighty Men” spring from the union of “godly men” and “godless women” today? Is it not a fact that the offspring of such a persons are not as a rule above the average size of mankind? But we would expect the offspring of angelic and human beings to be out of the ordinary, and would be surprised if they were not. We would expect them not only to be great in size, but in mentality, whereas in modern times “giants” are not conspicuous for mentality.

As the older nations of the earth have traditions, and in some cases records of the Flood, showing that they can trace their origin back to that catastrophe, we have in these traditions the source or origin whence the classic writers of antiquity obtained their conception of the “Gods” and “Demi-Gods” whose loves for members of the human race led to the birth of being half human and half divine. This the writers of antiquity, who must have had some basis for their stories, indirectly confirm our contention that the “Sons of God” of Gen. 6:1-4, whose descendants are described as “Mighty Men,” were more than human, that they were of heavenly origin.
